What happened today: “About two dozen potential jurors were dismissed over the course of the day for conflicts or personal hardships that would make it hard for them to serve for the trial’s duration. They included a Rockland County resident who knew one of the 84 people listed as possible witnesses, in this case, an employee of a nonprofit, and a Rockland County groundskeeper.
The remainder were put through a nearly 50-question screening process; about 35 people went through that step over the course of the day.
Most of those are still waiting to learn if they ultimately will be seated on the jury. Those questioned who still could end up on the jury include a woman from Garnerville who works as an analyst for a commercial real estate company and a man who works as an information technology manager and lives in Valley Cottage.
