September 25–Letter from Preserve Ramapo
As the election season ramps up we want to give you a whiff of what we’ve got cooking.
We are endorsing a full slate of almost 30 candidates in Ramapo and Rockland County. Nearly all of them are on ballot Row H, the SAM Party line.
SAM is the new political party that was formed during last year’s gubernatorial race by Stephanie Miner, the former Mayor of Syracuse, and Michael Volpe the former Mayor of Pelham, NY, who ran for Governor and Lt Governor respectively.
When Mayor Miner received more than 50,000 votes statewide, it triggered the formation of the Serve America Party (SAM) Party and secured it a place on the ballot, Row H, for the next four years.
We are happy to announce that we are running a very strong, diverse slate of County Legislative candidates, These candidates have all pledged to vote in a bipartisan coalition that will share power in the legislature to ensure that the public interest is served first and foremost rather than the needs of any one special interest.
This is of tremendous importance as the County Legislature will be redistricted after the 2020 census, and it is imperative that it is done in a fair and equitable manner to ensure that all communities of interest have a fair share of representation. They will all appear on ROW H, the SAM Party ballot line, and they are listed in district order below.
