UPDATE: With the announcement that Christopher St. Lawrence’s appearance in Federal court this afternoon was postponed to August 4, the Town of Ramapo residents were presented with the embarrassing prospect of a shameful hat trick. On the same Thursday, August 4, the town supervisor, the executive director of the Ramapo Local Development Corp., and newly elected Ramapo Town Board member, Shmuel (Samuel) Tress will all be trudging off to court, with Troodler and St. Lawrence
appearing in Westchester County at the Federal Courthouse, and Tress will be in Airmont Village Court where he faces charges related to his unprincipled votes on property he owned, while he was a member of the Ramapo Zoning Board of Appeals, and a felony charge of creating a false instrument, swearing those votes did not produce any personal gain for him. Troodler and St. Lawrence are looking at possibly long prison terms and Tress, if convicted, will be a two-time loser, having been convicted of a previous felony, which he failed to inform the voters about when he was running for his current seat on the town board.
