“Orangetown is considering establishing a “Do-Not-Knock” registry in response to an increasing number of complaints about door-to-door solicitation, including real estate canvassing.
“We have people who are aggressively trying to buy people’s homes,” said Orangetown town Supervisor Andy Stewart. “They knock on doors and catch people off guard and say, ‘We’ll buy your house.’ … And they are very pushy.”
The Town Board will hold a public hearing at 8:05 p.m. Tuesday at Orangetown Town Hall to hear from the public about the proposal.”
