In East Ramapo, the incumbents Yehuda Weissmandl (Board President), Bernard Charles, Jr. and Pierre Germain were all re-elected to their seats on the Board. According to Hamodia, “All three were endorsed by leaders of the local Jewish community and leading askanim.” Sabrina Charles-Pierre ran unopposed and was re-elected to the unexpired term she was appointed to last year. The East Ramapo School Board has nine seats, and with these results, the majority remains ultra-Orthodox Jewish men whose own children attend private religious schools.
The district budget was also on the ballot and it passed by a vote of 4,544 to 3,615.
In Ramapo Central School District, the budget passed and Amany Messieha Dgheim and Matthew Kern were elected to three-year terms on the Board of Education.
