The Republican Primary for Congress in District 17, which includes all of Rockland County, is coming up on Aug. 23rd.
We are proud to endorse Charles Falciglia for Congress in the Republican Primary.
As resident of Suffern for more than 50 years, and a two-term member of the Rockland County Legislature, Charles has been exhaustive in his fight against local corruption, malfeasance, and abuse of power.
Not one to seek the limelight, his low key but steadfast work ethic yields dividends nonetheless. With little help from other elected officials, Charles single-handedly investigated and uncovered numerous cases of fiscal misconduct, campaign finance violations, as well as mortgage and real estate fraud. He met repeatedly with law enforcement including the FBI, the U.S. Attorney and the Rockland County District attorney to push for prosecution of the offending parties.
Charles has authored and published, more than 20 articles on related subjects, in each case applying his meticulous attention to detail in the matter at hand. He fearlessly confronted powerful special interests and exposed their misdeeds. Charles worked closely with CUPON to expose questionable behavior by government officials surrounding the Bluefield Extension Project, played a pivotal role in forcing Ramapo to repay $400,000 dollars in funds to Sewer District 1 for toxic soil removal that was never completed, and he has spoken openly about the detrimental effects of RLUIPA on our local communities.
You can rest assured that Charles will not get the Bloc vote in the upcoming primary, which will likely go to his opponent Mike Lawler who has received it in the past.
Perhaps the most remarkable aspect of Charles’s time as a public servant is his consistent, unwavering stance on the most potent issues we face here in Rockland. We are confident that this will continue throughout his tenure as a member of Congress in the 17th District.
