Support Mike Parietti for Rockland County Executive November 4

This letter was recently sent by Mike to his friends at Preserve Ramapo:

Hello folks

It’s Mike Parietti here, and I’m running for Rockland County Executive as
an independent in the upcoming November 4th election

I am running because Rockland desperately needs a new birth of creative
energy and a heightened sense of urgency to tackle the very difficult
issues we now face. I will bring that energy and urgency to the County
Executive position and leave no stone unturned in seeking out solutions to
our most pressing concerns.

Ed Day is now running for a fourth four-year term after promising to serve
only two. In his last reelection Day received all of the Ramapo Bloc vote,
which we all know does not happen by accident. This year the Democratic
party did not run a candidate for County Executive despite having plenty
of good horses in the stable. I believe this was done as a favor to Ed Day
by the Bloc controlled Uniparty, who wanted to reward him for signing off
on the redistricting plan for the Rockland County Legislature. The new
boundaries are a maniacal gerrymander that grant the maximum amount of
political power possible to Bloc leaders at the expense of every other
community in Rockland County.

When we saw that Ed Day was running unopposed for a fourth term with no
other candidates on the ballot, we realized it was a golden opportunity we
could not afford to miss. A chance to give voters a real choice in the
November election. A choice between big party, big money, politics as
usual, and honest, fair, efficient government.

I am now on the ballot on the independent Good Gov party line, Row E in a
two-way, head-to-head, race with Ed Day.

We already know that Day will get the Bloc vote in the coming election and
that I will get none of it. Furthermore, Day has over $900,000.00 in his
campaign account and his list of donors is a witch’s brew of corporations,
businesses, unions, and other entities that create conflicts of interest
and the appearance of impropriety.

To the contrary my campaign is fueled only by donations from private
citizens who are deeply concerned about the future of Rockland County and
hold out hope for nothing more than good, honest government.

Please spread the word about my candidacy to your family, friends and
neighbors. The November 4 election is an opportunity for Rockland that may
never come again.
